....a bit about me

I grew up in a creative family and so 'making' is in my DNA. The discovery of handmade felt techniques has taken my work into new and endlessly evolving directions. I qualified in felt making to City & Guilds level 3 and have decided to concentrate on wearable accessories using merino wool. I add silk fabrics, fibres, threads and stitch, plus assorted decorative elements to give surface texture. I have experience of teaching in a variety of situations including primary and secondary schools; Landmark Arts Trust; various youth groups, textile groups; private and IFA* workshops as well as at craft exhibitions at Alexandra Palace and Olympia. I am a member of the Eastern Region Textile Forum, E17 Designers and have served four years on the committee of the International Feltmakers Association* (I now help run the London IFA group too). If you would like to see or even buy some of my work, I exhibit at most 'E17 Designers' markets which are held several times throughout the year....I will endeavour to post the dates here but please check the E17 Designers website for up-to-date information on my next appearance. I look forward to seeing you.
